Stakeswinner Sacred Eye will run in the Phar Lap Stakes against her own age at Rosehill in preference to a Group Three race in Melbourne.

Co-trainer David Hayes said three-year-old Sacred Eye would contest Saturday's Group Two Phar Lap Stakes at Rosehill instead of the Schweppervescence Trophy for fillies and mares at Flemington.

"We're heading to Sydney," Hayes said.

"It's a much better race. She didn't come in that well at the weights in Melbourne, being a Group Three winner, and in Sydney it's set weights and she's the highest-rated filly.

"And I'd love to give her a look around Rosehill before the Group One Vinery Stud Stakes."

Sacred Eye, winner of the Caulfield Classic last spring, is at $5 for the Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) with Old North the $3 favourite.
