Tuesday 15 March 2016, 5:53am

Classy stayer Our Ivanhowe will need a new rider for the BMW with Ben Melham hit with a hefty suspension at Moonee Valley.

Ben Melham, who has partnered the Caulfield Cup placegetter in all bar one of his seven Australian starts, was outed for 15 meetings at Moonee Valley on Monday.

Our Ivanhowe is heading to Group One BMW (2400m) at Rosehill on March 26 after finishing a close fifth behind Preferment in the Australian Cup at Flemington on Saturday.

Melham scored a winning double for Chris Waller at Moonee Valley aboard Gretna and Magicus but his efforts on Gretna drew two suspensions.

Firstly he was suspended for 10 meetings for causing interference at the 100m mark and for 15 meetings for further interference at the 50m mark.

The two suspensions are to be served concurrently and he returns on Easter Monday.
