All Too Hard and Green Moon in Futurity

Monday 18 February 2013, 4:55pm

Black Caviar wowed crowds at Flemington on Saturday but it will be her little brother in the spotlight this weekend at Caulfield.

All Too Hard is the likely favourite for Saturday's Group One Futurity Stakes (1400m) in a race that is set to feature the return of Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon.

A half-brother to Black Caviar, All Too Hard has proven himself to be one of the best horses in the country with a Caulfield Guineas win in the spring followed by a second in the Cox Plate.

He returned with a brilliant win in the Group One C F Orr Stakes (1400m) and will take on older horses again in the weight-for-age Futurity.

The Melbourne Racing Club received 12 nominations on Monday for the Futurity including fellow Group One winners King Mufhasa, Glass Harmonium, Lights Of Heaven and Niwot.

King Mufhasa is the defending title holder.

The Hawkes Racing team confirmed on Sunday that All Too Hard would line up in the Futurity ahead of Saturday week's Group One Australian Guineas against his own age.

All Too Hard has a stranglehold on Australian Guineas betting at $2.20 while Green Moon is the favourite for the Australian Cup at $4.40.

Kong Kong-based jockey Brett Prebble, who won a Group One at Sha Tin on Sunday, is set to reunite with Green Moon in the Futurity.

Dwayne Dunn, the regular rider for All Too Hard, was suspended at Flemington on Saturday but his ban ends on Friday night and he is free to ride the expensive colt on Saturday.

The Futurity Stakes is one of three Group Ones on the Caulfield card along with the $1 million Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) for two-year-olds and the Oakleigh Plate (1100m).
