A heavy track at Rosehill was made to order for Bello who rewarded punters with an all-the-way win in Saturday's first race.
Backed late from $3.40 to $3.10, Bello bounced to the front and kicked away in the straight to add the Endeavour Recycled Clothing (1500m) to his impressive record in the wet.
The Darley owned four-year-old has performed well but never won on a good track in 20 starts with four victories on heavy and two on dead.
Trainer Peter Snowden said he would now be given his chance in the Group Three Newmarket Handicap (1400m) at Newcastle later this month.
"He is a professional and does a good job," Snowden said.
"I didn't think he'd get that soft a lead.
"He goes well on top of the ground but the wet track is a plus for him.
"The Newcastle Newmarket is the race I thought we would target and they say this rain is going to stay around."
Hoylonny ($4.40) led the pack behind Bello to finished 2-1/4 lengths second with Fibrillation ($10) another three-quarters of a length away.
While he was pleased with Bello's performance, Snowden will be without stable stalwart Pinwheel for the autumn after the million-dollar earner suffered a suspensory injury during last month's C F Orr Stakes.
"It's not too bad as these injuries go but he will be out for about three months," Snowden said.
"He will have six weeks rehabilitation on the leg and then we'll get him going again."
