The most represented sire in the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes for two year-olds this Saturday at Caulfield is Coolmore heavyweight Fastnet Rock, who has five runners including the favourite Catchy.
A modest $220,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Coolmore draft for Dorrington Farm, Catchy (pictured above) is one of two Fastnet Rock fillies in the race sold by Coolmore, the other being Formality (pictured below) , who was a modest $120,000 Inglis Easter purchase.
Most expensive runner in the race is also by Fastnet Rock, the Spendthrift Farm owned colt Will’s Bid (pictured below) bought for $800,000 from the Milburn Creek draft at Magic Millions.
The next most expensive is Redoute’s Choice colt Pariah (pictured below), bought by James Harron Bloodstock from the Inglis Easter draft of Arrowfield stud for $700,000.
The only first season sire represented in the race is Golden Slipper winner Pierro, whose talented daughter Tulip has good form and a handy barrier (8) with Damien Oliver to ride.
Tulip was a $400,000 NZB Premier purchase for BBA Ireland/ Lindsay Park Racing from the Curraghmore stud draft and was foaled and raised at Coolmore as were Catchy and Formality.
