Gold Coast jockey Luke Rolls has been suspended for six weeks at a reopened inquiry into his handling of a runner earlier this month.
Stewards opened an inquiry into Rolls' ride on American Diva at Eagle Farm on February 8 but adjourned it to this week.
At the resumed inquiry Rolls was found guilty of not taking all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure that his horse wins or obtains the best possible place in the field.
Stewards said from the 600m to the 400m, when at the tail of the field, Rolls failed to improve his position to make ground.
They also said from the 400m until the finish, he failed to ride American Diva with the sufficient vigour.
Rolls was suspended from midnight on Saturday until April 08.
He is expected to seek an internal review of the suspension.
