More Than Sacred gave Cambridge trainers Tony Pike and Mark Donoghue their second classic of the New Zealand season with a commanding victory in the New Zealand Oaks.
The filly settled close to the pace for jockey Leith Innes and relished the 2400m at Trentham, racing clear in the straight to win the Group One race easily.
It was the second classic for the season for Pike and the filly's owners Raffles Farm, who took out the 2000 Guineas in November with Sacred Falls.
More Than Sacred was second favourite in the Oaks after winning the Sunline Vase at Ellerslie on March 6. She outstayed her opponents, hitting the lead soon after straightening and running away in the final 200m.
"She was an immature filly who was doing a lot wrong in her first preparation but this time back she's put everything together," Pike said.
"She was probably lucky she got a couple of cheap sectionals down the back and she's very strong at the line. She's a real staying filly."
Jockey Leith Innes, who turned down a ride on Sacred Falls in the Randwick Guineas to stay in New Zealand, said More Than Sacred was a tough filly and a natural stayer.
"She's stepped up and got better and better every start and she was real strong to the line today."
Blanket Bay and Aurora Lights, both from the Shaune Ritchie stable, finished second and third.
Favourite High Fashion was a disappointment, settling back in the field and making little headway to finish midfield.
