Winona Costin injured in race fall

Sunday 12 March 2017, 5:51pm

Just three days after returning from a long injury lay-off, Winona Costin has hurt her wrist in a fall at Wellington.

Costin was taken to hospital for X-rays on her wrist after the fall in Sunday's Wellington Boot when she came off at the start when her mount Shudabeen bucked.

In an earlier incident at the meeting, Brock Ryan was also taken to hospital for tests on a suspected fractured clavicle when he fell from his mount after the finishing post.

At the other meeting in country NSW, Jake Duffy and Bryan Murphy both fell in the same race and were transported to hospital for treatment.

Duffy was complaining of pain in his arm while Murphy has pain in his neck.
