Singapore trip for jockey Damian Browne

Wednesday 6 September 2017, 5:59am

Ex-pat trainer Cliff Brown has called on Queensland jockey Damian Browne for a black-type race in Singapore.

Browne will fly to Singapore on Sunday to partner Elite Excalibur in the Group Three Jumbo Jet Trophy (1400m) at Kranji.

Browne's previous two trips to Singapore have been for the former Victorian-based Brown who has been training in Singapore since late 2007.

The jockey was unplaced aboard Flight Ofthe Saker in the 2014 Group One Singapore Derby and earlier this year was runner-up aboard Laughing Gravy in the Group One Queen Elizabeth II Cup.

Brown and Browne have held a long association dating back to 1996 when they combined to win the South Australian Derby with Cheviot.

The Brown-trained Debt Collector, last year's Singapore Horse of the Year, won the 2016 Jumbo Jet Trophy.
