It's A Dundeel in barrier eight for Derby

Tuesday 9 April 2013, 10:51am

Favourite It's A Dundeel has firmed to $1.25 for Saturday's Australian Derby at Randwick following the withdrawal of Fiveandahalfstar due to injury.

Fiveandahalfstar had been the second pick in the 2400m Classic but was taken out on Monday night with a sprained fetlock.

Markets were suspended until Tuesday's barrier draw where It's A Dundeel came up with eight of 10.

Trained by New Zealander Murray Baker, It's A Dundeel has won the first two legs of Sydney's three-year-old triple crown, the Randwick Guineas and Rosehill Guineas.

Philippi, winner of Saturday's Tulloch Stakes, drew barrier one and is at $8 with Tulloch Stakes runner-up Hippopus a $12 chance after drawing gate five.
