Pedigree Points for this Saturday’s Group One Golden Rose

Tuesday 19 September 2017, 1:59pm

The Golden Rose has become renowned as a “stallion making” race, since it was changed from its original listing as the Peter Pan Stakes (run 1978-2002).

From 2008 (with the exception of gelding Manawanui), colts have enhanced their stud credentials ten-fold by claiming the 1400m event, ensuring the race attracts a top class field each year as trainers and connections vie to add value to their charges and that of their own sires at stud.

The honours list reads: Duporth (2008), Denman (2009), Toorak Toff (2010), Epaulette (2012), Zoustar (2013), Hallowed Crown (2014), Exosphere (2015) and Astern (2016).
