Trainer Tony Gollan is hoping it will be a case of third time lucky for his smart filly Miss Exfactor as he attempts to get her to the races on Saturday.
She was due to run at the past two Saturday meetings as a lead-up to a Magic Millions carnival campaign.
Instead she will have her first start in a month in the Broncos Superstore Handicap at Doomben.
Miss Exfactor hasn't run since leading all the way to win at the Gold Coast on October 7
Gollan said the delays had not been ideal because he now had to run Miss Exfactor at 1200m when he had been intending to step her out to 1350m.
"But Miss Exfactor needs to run and I will not make up his mind about a future campaign until after it," Gollan said.
"Fingers and toes crossed as surely she can't have more bad luck. The first time her race got washed out. Then last week the track was so hard I scratched her," Gollan said.
"Provided the track isn't too hard she will run at Doomben on Saturday. It was a lot softer on Tuesday and there is rain around."
Gollan is considering whether to press on to the Magic Millions in January or look further afield.
"There are races for her in the autumn and winter so there is no hurry."
Meanwhile, Gollan is expecting a good run from veteran Frespanol in the Open Handicap (1350m).
Frespanol hasn't run since finishing fourth at the Gold Coast on October 4 .
"He has had a trial since and goes well on the fresh side," Gollan said.
Frespanol is being aimed at the Brisbane summer races such as the Brisbane Handicap and Bernborough Handicap.
