Leading Melbourne jockey Dwayne Dunn's visit to Brisbane for the Jockeys Origin series hit a hurdle when he was suspended for 13 days at Doomben.

Dunn, who rode Pillara in the second heat on Friday, pleaded guilty to careless riding passing the 1600m when he allowed his mount to shift in when not fully clear of Beau Isa.

Astronomic was severely checked when tightened for room between Beau Isa and the running rail.

Dunn is suspended for 13 days, to commence at midnight on Sunday and finish on December 23.

He was able to ride for the remainder of the series on an automatic stay.
