Snitty Kitty among Adams Stakes entries

Monday 29 January 2018, 4:38pm

Oakleigh Plate-bound Snitty Kitty is among the headline nominations for the Listed W J Adams Stakes, which have been extended.

The 1000m-sprint is one of three stakes races on Saturday's Caulfield program along with the Group Three Chairman's Stakes (1000m) for two-year-olds and the Group Three Manfred Stakes (1200m) for three-year-olds.

The Henry Dwyer-trained Snitty Kitty was unbeaten in her two starts last spring including the Group Two Caulfield Sprint over 1000m.

Dwyer is aiming the four-year-old at the Group One Oakleigh Plate (1100m) second-up at Caulfield, three weeks after Saturday's race.

"The Oakleigh Plate looks the ideal race for her," Dwyer said.

"She's pretty dynamic over a short course around Caulfield on her home track and she gets in on the minimum in a race like that, you'd think."

Snitty Kitty finished second to Ardrossan in a star-studded 800m jump-out at Caulfield last week in preparation for her return.

Entries for the W J Adams Stakes, a handicap, have been extended until Tuesday after 10 nominations were taken on Monday.

Snitty Kitty has a rating of 101, three points less than the highest rated sprinter in the race, the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra-trained Crystal Dreamer, winner of 10 of his 22 starts.

Crystal Dreamer, who was unplaced behind Snitty Kitty in the Caulfield Sprint, has won his past two starts, the Listed Doveton Stakes (1000m) at Sandown in November and an 1100m-handicap at Caulfield on December 16.

Ellerton and Zahra also have last-start Caulfield winner Nasdex nominated to make his stakes debut.

Eleven unraced juveniles feature among the 17 entries for the Chairman's Stakes, a race won two years ago by Extreme Choice on his way to his Blue Diamond Stakes victory.

The Manfred Stakes has 16 nominations headlined by the Darren Weir-trained stakes winner Cliff's Edge.

Entries have also been extended for the $250,000 Inglis Premier (1200m) for two-year-olds which so far has nine nominations.
