Star stablemates Sunlight and Oohood will go in different directions for their three-year-old spring campaigns.

Trainer Tony McEvoy says Magic Millions winner and Golden Slipper placegetter Sunlight will be aimed at sprint races in Melbourne while Oohood will head to Sydney for the Princess Series.

Oohood is a contender for the unenviable title of the country's best maiden with six minor placings from her six starts, all in stakes company.

Included in those statistics are a close second to Estijaab in the Golden Slipper and an even closer second to El Dorado Dreaming in the ATC Sires' Produce Stakes.

She was also runner-up in a third Group One race when second to Written By in the Blue Diamond Stakes.

"Oohood did well in Sydney and showed in the Sires' that I think she could stretch out to 1600 metres," McEvoy said.

"So we will target the fillies series while Sunlight will stay in Melbourne for sprint races."

The Princess Series comprises four races culminating in the Group One Flight Stakes over 1600m.

One sprint race McEvoy won't consider for Sunlight is the $13 million Everest.

"I think it's too hard for newly turned three-year-old fillies," he said.

"And I don't have a colt good enough with Run Naan sold to Hong Kong."

Run Naan won his first two starts including the Maribyrnong Plate and finished third in the Blue Diamond Preview and fifth in the finale.

Another stablemate, Royal Symphony, is recovering from a suspensory injury but will miss the spring.

The colt ran a creditable fourth in the Cox Plate after having a rough run throughout.

"HIs latest scan was good and I expect to have him back in November and we will get him ready for the autumn," McEvoy said.
