Champagne Cuddles eq favourite for Tiara

Monday 18 June 2018, 12:09pm

Champagne Cuddles and Prompt Response have been posted $6 equal favourites in the TAB's first markets on the Group One Tatt's Tiara at Doomben.

Thirty seven fillies and mares have been entered in Saturday's 1350m-race, the final Group One event of the Australian racing season which has a 16-horse limit.

Champagne Cuddles is one of three fillies among the entries with another, Moss Trip, on the second line of betting at $8 alongside Super Cash.

The Bjorn Baker-trained Champagne Cuddles has been placed four times at Group One level, most recently when third in the Stradbroke Handicap won by Santa Ana Lane.

Prompt Response, trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, finished second in the race last year.

The Tiara entries feature Group One winners Daysee Doom, Shillelagh, Miss Wilson and Volpe Veloce who are all safely in the top 16 in the order of entry released on Monday.

If all 16 are among the acceptors, the Jason Coyle-trained Siren's Fury will be first emergency and Faraway Town the fifth and final reserve.
