Jockey has appeal win before the RAD Board

Monday 18 June 2018, 3:41pm

Jockey John Robertson has had a careless riding suspension reduced on appeal at the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board.

Robertson was suspended at Swan Hill on June 8 and again at Edenhope on June 10.

He appealed the severity of a 20-meeting suspension incurred at Edenhope for an incident in which Christine Puls was dislodged near the 300m mark of a maiden race.

Robertson's 20 meeting suspension was due to commence on June 19, at the conclusion of his Swan Hill ban, and end at midnight on July 9.

The RAD Board upheld his appeal ruling the suspension be served concurrently with the Swan Hill suspension, rather cumulatively, and he can return to race riding on July 4.
