Field of 10 to run in G1 Underwood Stakes

Wednesday 26 September 2018, 12:37pm

Grunt is set to attempt back-to-back Group One victories when he jumps from the outside barrier in the Underwood Stakes at Caulfield.

A last-start winner of the Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington, Grunt is one of 10 runners that will line up in Sunday's 1800m weight-for-age contest.

Champion trainer Darren Weir will saddle three runners in the race with Humidor, winner of the Memsie Stakes at the track on September 1, drawing the inside barrier with stablemates Tosen Basil and Black Heart Bart drawing barriers three and seven respectively.

Last year's winner Bonneval is the only mare in the race and will jump from barrier nine while the Charlie Appleby Godolphin galloper Blair House will jump from barrier eight.

After entering four horses for the race, Comin' Through will be Chris Waller's sole representative and start from barrier two.
