Record-breaking jumper Black And Bent heads entries for the $100,000 Australian Hurdle at Sandown on Saturday.
Black And Bent set an Australian record of 10 successive wins over obstacles in winning the Jack Dow Memorial Hurdle and he is a clear standout among 13 nominations for Saturday's 3400m race.
Trainer Robert Smerdon has also entered stablemate Brungle Cry, a five-year-old who is rated a jumper of immense promise after winning the 2012 Grand National Hurdle and the 2013 Galleywood Hurdle.
Other entries include the Peter Moody-trained Macedonian, a 20-length winner of his only hurdle start, as well as Zaman, Maythehorsebemagic and Wells, runner-up in the Andrew Ramsden Stakes on the flat at his most recent start.
The $100,000 The Australian Steeplechase (3900m) also features an impressive list of entries headed by Ciaron Maher's reigning jumps horse-of-the-year Bashboy.
Additional nominations include fellow Maher-trained stablemates Man Of Class, Regal Heir and Our Rockhampton, Sunday's Casterton Steeplechase victor Half Moon Rising, last-start Great Southern Steeplechase winner Kirribilli Gold and Patrick Payne's classy jumper Lord Of The Song.
A $100,000 Handicap over 1200m for the sprinters has attracted 33 nominations, including recent Sydney autumn carnival winner Rarefied.
The 2011 Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) runner-up is joined among the entries by his Darley stablemate Bello, a last-start Newcastle Newmarket Handicap winner.
Bello is also entered for the QTC Cup at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
