Six of the best for Dylan Dunn at Colac

Saturday 22 December 2018, 6:02pm

Comeback jockey Dylan Dunn has ridden a career-high six winners at the Colac meeting in country Victoria.

Dunn had rides in six of the seven races at Saturday's meeting, with his final winner being the aptly named $5.50 chance None Better.

His other winners were Humzz ($8.50), $2.70 favourite Campo, $3 favourite Rosso Antico, Mrs Bignell ($6) and Inastride ($3.20).

After retiring in 2017, Dunn spent 18 months working in the media before returning to the saddle in September.

His proud father, Dwayne, who is also a jockey, watched his son notch the last winner from the weighing room at Flemington.

"That's pretty special," Dunn senior said.

"I've done that myself but not off six rides.

"He's had a super comeback. He's worked hard to get back, his style's changed.

"He's looking good on them and you can see the rewards coming."

Dunn has been riding winners on country tracks since returning with the odd success coming at midweek and night meetings in town.

"He's setting a few goals and the opportunities will come for him from now on in town for sure," Dwayne Dunn said.
