John Allen suspended twice at Flemington

Tuesday 1 January 2019, 7:49pm

John Allen will miss the ride on Magic Millions 2YO Classic equal favourite Yes Yes Yes after being suspended on two careless riding charges at Flemington.

Yes Yes Yes joined Dubious and Unite And Conquer at the head of the market with his win at Moonee Valley on Saturday and is set to fly to the Gold Coast next week for the 1200m sprint for two-year-olds on January 12.

Allen's two careless riding charges on Tuesday came on top of a another suspension at Seymour on Sunday.

He starts the eight meeting Seymour suspension following Wednesday's meeting at Sandown with that ban to end on Jnuary 10.

Racing Victoria stewards suspended Allen for 12 meetings on Tuesday on a charge they deemed in the mid-range for his ride on Savaheat in the George Watson Handicap.

He was suspended for a further eight meetings following his win aboard Diplomac Jack in the Head Wind Handicap.

Stewards ordered the suspensions be served concurrently.

But to avoid what stewards called a manifestly excessive suspension, they shaved two meetings off Allen's ban, rubbing him out for a total of 10 meetings which begins on January 11 and ends on January 18.
