Fresh from Fiumicino's McKell Cup success, Jay Ford will be out to deliver another off-season feature for Hawkes Racing at Randwick on Saturday.
Ford will link with the training partnership in the Listed June Stakes (1200m) when he rides new stable recruit Neeson.
While Ford's history with Neeson is limited, teaming with John, Wayne and Michael Hawkes is not.
"They've always been good supporters of mine," Ford said.
"We've had a lot of luck over the years and I've had a lot of winners for them.
"We're on a bit of a roll at the moment."
The Ford-Hawkes combination celebrated a winning double at Randwick two weeks ago, highlighted by stable stalwart Fiumicino's stakes victory.
On Saturday, they will get the chance to repeat the feat when Ford partners Neeson in the June Stakes and Upon in a support race.
Both horses will be having their first runs for the Hawkes stable and both are resuming off long breaks.
A two-time Group winner, Neeson will carry equal top weight of 60.5kg in the feature and despite a lack of recent racing, Ford has seen merit in the gelding's recent trials.
"He's got a bit of weight but he's the class runner and he deserves it," Ford said.
"In both his trials he has looked very good.
"He's changed stables but I know the Hawkes's are very happy with him so I expect him to run well."
Ford's only previous ride aboard Neeson was in last year's Liverpool City Cup when he disappointed as favourite.
His record on his Stayers Cup (3200m) mount, the David Hayes-trained Unchain My Heart, is better.
Ford rode the mare twice earlier in her career for a win and a second, and since then she has proven herself a handy stayer winning the 2012 Bagot Handicap and last month's Andrew Ramsden Stakes.
"I know she will run the trip, she's already a winner over the distance, and that is a big advantage," Ford said.
