A jumps treble to Pateman at Warrnambool

Tuesday 11 June 2013, 5:50pm

Champion jumps rider Steve Pateman made a clean sweep of the three races over obstacles at Warrnambool on Tuesday.

He was made to work hard on jumps debutant Fieldmaster who was well back early and made a mess of the third last jump in the Maiden Hurdle (3232m).

Pateman balanced the Patrick Payne-trained gelding and he jumped the last cleanly before showing his superiority on the flat in the last 200 metres.

Our Rockhampton, trained by Ciaran Maher, and Kirribilli Gold from the Robert Smerdon stable won the two 3450m steeplechases on the program.
