The Australian Turf Club has confirmed Nevesh Ramdhani will take over as its general manager of racecourses when the new racing season kicks off in August.
Ramdhani, who has been racecourse manager at Randwick since 2010, will replace industry stalwart Lindsay Murphy who is retiring in July after a 42-year career in Sydney racing.
ATC executive general manager of racing services and membership James Heddo said Ramdhani's standing within the industry would hold him in good stead for his new role.
"Nevesh has gained great respect from the trainers at Royal Randwick and has done a tremendous job on the course proper, the rebuild of the Kensington track and significant upgrades to the training facilities including a new Polytrack," Heddo said.
The general manager role is responsible for the oversight of all training and racing facilities at Sydney's four metropolitan racetracks and will work closely with trainers and racecourse managers.
The ATC confirmed it would now begin its search to find Ramdhani's replacement as track manager at Randwick.
