Cox Plate favourite Mystic Journey will not run in the Group One Memsie Stakes with trainer Adam Trinder to save her for the Makybe Diva Stakes.
Mystic Journey made a winning return at Caulfield last Saturday in the Group Two P B Lawrence Stakes (1400m), stretching her unbeaten sequence to seven.
She was taken home to Trinder's Tasmanian base after the Lawrence with next week's Memsie among her options.
But in a video post on Twitter on Saturday the trainer confirmed she would have her next start in the Group One Makybe Diva Stakes on September 14.
"She has come through that run in really good order," Trinder said.
"I'm happy with her presentation. She has slotted straight back into her routine here in Tasmania.
"She has been really good in her appetite and lovely and full about herself, so I'm really happy with that.
"That being said, she won't take her opportunity in the Memsie next Saturday. The decision has been made to bypass that event.
"I just feel moving forward she's better off going straight to the 1600 metres of the Makybe Diva at Flemington and that will just give her a good foundation.
"There's options to shorten up her preparation post that run, but just at the start of the preparation with us having missed the Bletchingly and changing plans to go to the Lawrence, I feel she's better placed with a month between runs straight out to the mile.
"As we saw she was lovely and forward about herself last week so she's shown us that she is on track. We were confident with her at home but we were really pleased to see her go back to the races and do it."
