A capacity field of 16 plus two emergencies has been declared for Friday's Group Three Cup over 2300m.
The Group Three Cameron Handicap has a field of 16 while the the other Group Three race on the program, the Tibbie Stakes (1400m) for fillies and mares, has 16 plus one reserve.
The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Con Te Partiro is an acceptor in both the Cameron and the Tibbie.
The track was in the soft range on Wednesday with the Newcastle area receiving less rain than Sydney.
