A late-season rush of winners from the Mick Price stable has revealed a couple of bright spring classic prospects.
A double at Cranbourne on Thursday made it seven winners from his past 20 starters for Price who is having his best season with 133 winners across four states.
Having set out an ambitious future for Wednesday's eight-length Werribee winner Longma, Price announced he would be joined in a Caulfield Guineas campaign by Lord Sherwood who scored a debut success at Cranbourne on Thursday.
Price said Lord Sherwood would have a short break to prepare him for the $1 million three-year-old feature run at Caulfield on October 12.
"He'll run in the traditional Guineas lead-ups and he'll be a lovely 1600-metre horse," Price said.
Lord Sherwood's win was followed later on the Cranbourne program by that of Dargio who a Two-Year-Old Maiden by seven lengths.
Price has another pair of two-year-olds primed for a strong finish to the season at Flemington on Saturday when Resistant and Worth A Ransom run in the Inglis Bonus Plate (1400m).
