Bart Cummings will begin another chapter of his illustrious career in the new racing season.
The 12-time Melbourne Cup winner will be joined by his grandson James in a training partnership.
Racing NSW chief executive Peter V'landys confirmed the partnership had been approved after James passed interview and exam criteria.
The partnership will take effect on August 1, 60 years after Bart Cummings first took out his trainer's licence in Adelaide.
Racing Victoria has also given the all-clear for the partnership to operate in Victoria where Bart Cummings is also licenced.
James Cummings is the latest member of the family's racing dynasty which began with Bart's father Jim who won the 1950 Melbourne Cup with Comic Court.
A son of Randwick trainer Anthony Cummings, James has been working for his famous grandfather for the past four years and has been his main stable representative on race days.
Bart Cummings will be represented by two runners at Rosehill on Saturday, Kim Warrior in the Woolworths Handicap (1500m) and Gliding in the 2GB Handicap (1350m).
