Field of seven for the Group One Lightning

Wednesday 12 February 2020, 10:59am

Short-priced favourite Nature Strip is set to face six rivals in the $750,000 Black Caviar Lightning Stakes at Flemington where he chases his fourth Group One win.

The Chris Waller-trained Nature Strip resumes in Saturday's 1000m weight-for-age sprint for his first start since his dominant victory in the Group One Darley Classic at the same track in spring.

He has drawn barrier five with James McDonald to ride.

Dual Everest winner Redzel has the inside barrier for the straight-track race while last year's Group One Goodwood winner Despatch has drawn the outside.

Group One-winning filly Loving Gaby is the only three-year-old in the field and has barrier six with Craig Williams to ride.
