David Vandyke is looking to Arabian Gold to give him his first Group One victory with the Flight Stakes the aim for the filly who scored her fourth win from six starts on Saturday.
The Warwick Farm trainer has assembled a strong spring team with Arabian Gold headed to the Flight Stakes (1600m) on October 5.
Carrying 58kg topweight in the 1600m race for two-year-olds at Randwick, Arabian Gold ($3.50) got the better of the favourite Stamina ($3.30) by two lengths under hands and heels riding from Peter Robl with another 4-1/4 lengths to Quayside ($9).
Arabian Gold will be freshened up for one more run in the Group Two Tea Rose (1400m) before the Flight Stakes.
"She will have an ease-up now and come back for the 1400-metre race two weeks before the Flight Stakes," Vandyke said.
"She is a very promising filly."
Robl said the filly's talent allowed her to overcome not being as far forward as he hoped she would be.
"I had to go to Plan D and I didn't have a Plan D," Robl said.
"But she was travelling that well I just thought `how good is this'."
Before Arabian Gold stepped out, Gai Waterhouse's Melbourne Cup hopefuls Carlton House and Fiorente were given a spin around Randwick.
Owned by the Queen, Carlton House shaded last year's Melbourne Cup runner-up Fiorente in the gallop.
Nash Rawiller rode in the Queen's distinctive colours while Tommy Berry partnered Fiorente."
