The Melbourne Cup favourite Puissance De Lune is set to resume racing at Caulfield in three weeks.
Trainer Darren Weir said the imported galloper whose jockey Glen Boss last November declared him the Cup winner, would make his comeback in the Group Two PB Lawrence Stakes (1400m).
Weir said his runs would then be well-spaced.
"He's not a horse that needs a lot of racing so he won't have too much," he said.
Puissance De Lune raced only once, as scheduled, in the autumn, dead-heating with sprinter-miler Budriguez to win the Blamey Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on March 9.
Concerns that emerged following that race resulted in Puissance De Lune undergoing a surgical procedure to remove bone chips from his knees.
But the horse has made a full recovery from what the trainer described as "routine maintenance" and has held his position as the $7.50 Melbourne Cup favourite.
Puissance De Lune's spring program is also likely to include the Cox Plate which would be his Cup lead-up.
