Pocket rocket Snitzel's Jewel takes another step in her spring preparations when she runs at Rosehill on Saturday with trainer Gerald Ryan keen to see where she fits in with the new season's three-year-olds.
The filly made it two wins from two starts with her 1000m victory at Warwick Farm on July 13 and steps up to 1100m for the first time.
"She's done really well since her first-up win but this is another step again," Ryan said.
"Whether she's good enough, we'll find out.
"She's only a light little thing but if she can perform as she did last time we'll have a look at the San Domenico two weeks later.
"There is also the Silver Shadow against the fillies the week after."
The Group Three San Domenico is open to all three-year-olds and is over 1100m while the Silver Shadow is another 100 metres longer.
"I think she can stretch out to 1400 metres but not just yet," Ryan said.
"Brenton Avdulla will ride her on Saturday because Glyn Schofield has decided to go with Champagne Cath."
The Chris Waller-trained Champagne Cath was the winner of her only start in December and has won two barrier trials since.
Ryan will also start veteran campaigner Ironstein at Rosehill on Saturday with the eight-year-old to contest the Listed Winter Challenge (1500m) on his way to a Newcastle Cup start in September.
"He has come up really well and is a happy horse," Ryan said.
"He doesn't know how old he is and is bouncing around like a three-year-old."
The winner of almost $1 million, Ironstein won the 2011 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2600m) at Flemington on the final day of the Melbourne Cup carnival and finished second last year to Puissance De Lune.
The winner's performance earned him favouritism for this year's Melbourne Cup, a position he still holds.
