Luke Nolen, the jockey who rode Black Caviar in 22 of her 25 victories, is back at work after a two-week break but can't get a ride at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
But it's not because he's out of favour with trainer Peter Moody.
Like a lot of people who go on holidays, Nolan put on a few extra kilograms.
A lack of horses within his weight range on Saturday has ruled him out of the meeting but his manager Adrian Coyne says Nolen will be back riding at Sandown next Wednesday.
"He's been on holiday and he's put on a bit of weight, like we all do, but he'll back riding next Wednesday at Sandown," Coyne said.
Nolen finished the season with 86 wins on the Victorian premiership which was won by Brad Rawiller with 166 victories.
On Wednesday at Ballarat, Nolen eased his way back into the saddle with two rides.
His last winning ride for Moody was on June 12 on Spirit Of Heaven at Sandown.
