I'm Too Sexy, an early season two-year-old winner in 2012-13, starts a campaign at Moonee Valley on Saturday which trainer Mark Riley hopes will lead to a Thousand Guineas start.
Mornington-based Riley says the three-year-old filly has thrived during an extended break after being plagued by bad feet in two Queensland races.
I'm Too Sexy won over 1000m at Ballarat in her debut race last November but couldn't repeat the form at Doomben and in the $2 million Magic Millions Two-Year-Old Classic on the Gold Coast where she finished last of 16 runners.
Riley said he had no doubt the filly can run a mile and is targeting the Group One Thousand Guineas (1600m) during the spring carnival.
"In hindsight, we shouldn't have chased the two million-dollar race but you only get one crack at it," Riley said.
"She had won very well at Ballarat so we took her to Queensland but she had problems with her feet up there and was never one hundred per cent."
He said the filly, who runs in the Aquanas Foods Handicap (1000m), had recovered and her feet problems were well behind her.
"Her feet are right again, we've had no problems with her and she's going to the races fit and well," Riley said.
"She hasn't taken any harm from it, she's had a good spell and she's going into Saturday looking really well.
"We always thought she would be better as a three-year-old," he said.
Another plus for I'm Too Sexy is her jockey Patrick Moloney, who is on a winning streak in metropolitan races, scoring a double at Sandown on July 28 and producing a winning ride for his uncle Gerard at Flemington on July 20.
"He is riding fantastic," Riley said.
"I think he is one of the up-and-coming young jockeys."
In a six-horse field, I'm Too Sexy is up against the Peter Moody-trained Diamond Glow, an impressive winner on debut at Caulfield in January, as well as Metastasio, a stakes winner for Darley last season.
