A Melbourne spring campaign is back on the agenda for Ascot Handicap winner Doubtfilly.
Trainer Stuart Kendrick is in the process of mapping out a program for Doubtfilly who resumes trackwork this week.
"We were originally looking at giving her a longer spell and bringing her back for the Magic Millions and summer Triple Crown," Kendrick said.
"But after discussions with the owners we're all keen to aim at a couple of sprint races for mares in Melbourne during the spring carnival."
Doubtfilly will begin her Melbourne campaign in the Listed Alinghi Stakes (1100m) on Caulfield Cup day, October 19.
Kendrick then plans to start her in the Listed MSS Security Sprint (1200m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day.
The four-year-old completed her winter carnival campaign by winning the Listed Ascot Handicap (1200m) at Eagle Farm on July 6.
"She was doing some pre-training on the water walker last week and she looked in great shape," he said.
"All the signs are really positive with her."
Doubtfilly gave Kendrick one of his most memorable moments when she finished a creditable fourth to Pierro in last year's Golden Slipper as a $91 outsider.
Kendrick is pleased with the results he has achieved since he moved to the Sunshine Coast earlier this year after a successful career in North Queensland where he was the leading trainer at Mackay for several seasons.
He is hoping Lightfeet Lady can continue her winning form before she heads to stud later in the spring.
"She won well for us at Doomben last week and the plan is to give her two more runs before she's retired," he said.
"She's been booked to visit Manhattan Rain this breeding season and hopefully she can go out on a winning note in the next few weeks."
