Star jockey Craig Williams has picked up the ride on unbeaten colt Safeguard for Saturday week's Group Two Danehill Stakes with Darley's No.1 jockey Kerrin McEvoy riding in Sydney.
McEvoy will be at Randwick for the first-up run of dual Group One winner Guelph in the Furious Stakes.
Guelph pipped Golden Slipper winner Overreach for the title of last season's champion two-year-old with her wins in the Sires' Produce Stakes and Champagne Stakes.
Safeguard is unbeaten in three starts including a narrow first-up win in the Group Three Vain Stakes earlier this month with McEvoy aboard.
Paul Snowden, stable foreman in Melbourne for his father Peter, said Safeguard had come through his first-up run well and confirmed Williams would be aboard for the Danehill (1200m) at Flemington.
"We had a meeting, that was our first option and he was available to ride him," Snowden said.
