Global traveller Lost In the Moment has come from last to claim the Group Two International Bosphorus Cup for Godolphin at Veliefendi in Turkey.
The horse has been to Australia twice, finishing sixth in Dunaden's 2011 Melbourne Cup and fifth in last year's Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Flemington won by reigning Cup favourite Puissance De Lune.
Mickael Barzalona was content to place the Saeed bin Suroor-trained Lost In The Moment at the rear of the field as fellow British raider Ambivalent made most of the running.
Roger Varian's filly and Nymphea battled it out up front until Lost In The Moment came with a sweeping run on the outside to grab the honours by a length. Ambivalent stuck on for second by a nose from Nymphea.
"He has run a huge race to win like that," Bin Suroor said on Godolphin's website.
"He was behind but finished well and has the class to succeed over a mile and a half (2400m) though he might be better at two miles.
"Lost In The Moment seems to be improving still at the age of six. There are no plans at the moment for him but we will bring him home and see how he comes out of this victory."
Lost In The Moment is not among Godolphin's entries for this year's Melbourne Cup. Late entries close on Tuesday.
