Professional Ready 2 Race Sale Breeze Ups Completed

Thursday 12 September 2013, 3:36pm

The final breeze ups for the 2013 Inglis Sydney Ready 2 Race Sale were completed at Avondale in New Zealand this morning and despite deteriorating conditions the well prepared group put forward extremely professional performances.

“The saturated track and rainy conditions were extremely disappointing for this is an outstanding bunch of young horses that New Zealand vendors are supporting the Ready 2 Race Sale with,” said Jonathan D’Arcy.

“The abundance of top sires represented this week at Avondale, Canterbury and Cranbourne is tremendous and despite the range of conditions each group met at their breeze ups the proficient manner in which all horses performed will be evident to buyers on the video footage to be released,” said D’Arcy.

After 30mm of rain overnight the track at Avondale this morning was rated a Heavy 10. Ongoing rainfall during the session is also reflected in the 200m breeze up times recorded, as the young horses were not asked to extend in the very trying conditions. Buyers should take this into consideration.

Celia Corcoran Thoroughbred’s two-year-old by Mossman from Zaxcel recorded the quickest time on Thursday. The juvenile will be offered as Lot 8 at Newmarket in Sydney on 3 October amongst a number of quality drafts from respected New Zealand consignors.

Complete times from the Canterbury (Good 3), Cranbourne (Dead 4) and Avondale (Heavy 10) breeze ups conducted this week can be viewed online at www.inglis.com.au .
