Strong field for Group One George Main

Missing a scheduled run in the Chelmsford Stakes could be a blessing for Streama who is among 15 entries for Saturday's Group One George Main Stakes.

Trainer Guy Walter pulled the pin on the Group Two Chelmsford on September 7 after the mare's hard run in the Warwick Stakes two weeks earlier.

Streama finished a close second to New Zealander Veyron in the Group Two race after the pair fought out the final 200 metres.

"She had a hard run and I didn't want to overtax her," Walter said.

"I'm very happy with her as is Blake Shinn."

Shinn will be having his first race ride on the dual Group One winning mare but has ridden her regularly in trackwork.

Veyron is again among her opponents with his Warwick Stakes winning jockey Christian Reith back aboard.

The owners of Veyron decided to replace Rogan Norvall as her rider after the gelding finished ninth in the Chelmsford won by Hawkspur who has been entered for the George Main (1600m) and the Group Two Hill Stakes (2000m) at Randwick as well as the Group One Underwood Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield.

Hawkspur is one of six George Main entries from the Chris Waller stable led by last year's winner Shoot Out, the equal highest rated horse in the race on 116 alongside veteran New Zealander King Mufhasa.

Trainer Bruce Wallace said a decision on whether King Mufhasa crossed the Tasman would be made on Tuesday.

"That's the latest we can decide," he said.

"He's entered for the Windsor Park Plate at Hastings and they tell me the weather is clearing there so that is the preferred option over 1400 metres."

Trainer Peter Moody has entered three-year-old Dissident, a tenacious second to Zoustar in Saturday's Golden Rose.

Waller's other four nominations are Beaten Up, Moriarty, Royal Descent, and Sacred Falls.
