Webb flags black-type ambitions for Mybenz

Saturday 21 September 2013, 1:27pm

Trainer Stuart Webb will look for a stakes race for his mare Mybenz after she notched the third win of her career at Caulfield on Saturday.

Sent out favourite, Mybenz ($4) stormed home to win the Starlight Children's Foundation Handicap.

She defeated Rose Pattern ($5) by 1-1/4 lengths with Minnie Downs ($10) a short head away third.

In her only Listed race appearance Mybenz finished fourth in the Laelia Stakes in Adelaide but Webb said was now looking for a black-type race to see how far the four-year-old can go.

"I have always hoped she would step up to at least a Listed or Group Three race and she probably only has to take one more step and get her rating up to be competitive," Webb said.

"She'll even be a bit better when she gets into a race with more tempo. She is just struggling a bit and tending to over-race."
