Glen Boss fined $2000 for Caulfield salute

Saturday 21 September 2013, 6:27pm

Melbourne stewards are close to losing patience with jockey Glen Boss's renowned victory celebrations.

Boss was hit with a $2000 fine for his high-in-the-irons histrionics after winning the Naturalism Stakes on Mr O'Ceirin at Caulfield on Saturday.

Chief steward Terry Bailey pointed out the fine took Boss's accumulated penalties since the 2009 Cox Plate on So You Think to almost $7000.

Bailey said fines didn't appear to deter Boss and that stewards may have to consider a suspension for any future offences.

Boss was understandably pleased with his effort to win the Group Three race, leading throughout from barrier 16.
