New Zealand star It's A Dundeel will be syndicated to stand at Arrowfield Stud when his racing career ends next year.
The announcement was made just two days after he toppled the previously unbeaten Atlantic Jewel in the Underwood Stakes at Caulfield to record his fifth Group One win.
Arrowfield boss John Messara said it was an exciting opportunity to stand a stallion with a mixture of European and colonial staying blood.
The four-year-old is by High Chaparral out of Stareel, a daughter of Cambridge Stud's champion sire of stayers Zabeel.
"He will be the first stallion to stand at Arrowfield with the Zabeel bloodlines," Messara said.
"I bred Zabeel in a joint venture with Robert Sangster so it will renew my connection to him.
"We are looking for nice horses who can stick on a bit and It's A Dundeel is the best young horse going around."
It's A Dundeel will continue to be trained by Murray Baker until he enters the NSW Hunter Valley stud in the spring of 2014.
His next Group One mission is Caulfield Stakes followed by the Cox Plate.
"It's A Dundeel's pedigree combines the brilliance and classic stamina of Sadler's Wells and Zabeel infused with the incomparable speed of Luskin Star to create a racehorse of superlative quality over a range of distances," Messara said.
Murray Andersen, his New Zealand breeder and part-owner, said the deal with Arrowfield would give the horse every opportunity to be a success.
"We're delighted that Arrowfield has agreed to stand It's A Dundeel, because it secures his place on a major Australian stallion roster that will give him the opportunity he deserves," he said.
Atlantic Jewel remains the Cox Plate favourite at $3 with TAB while It's A Dundeel is at $3.70 for the weight-for-age championship.
