Carlton House has joined Shoot Out as an Epsom Handicap withdrawal.
Following Shoot Out's retirement on Monday, Carlton House was taken out of the $500,000 race on Tuesday.
His defection from the Group One for which he was a $17 chance continues a stop-start spring for the horse who is trained by Gai Waterhouse for the Queen.
With Tommy Berry in the saddle, Carlton House was ridden along to finish second in a Randwick barrier trial last Friday.
It was the first time he had been seen in public since an exhibition gallop at Rosehill late last month.
Because of his royal connection and his placing to So You Think during Royal Ascot last year, Carlton House arrived at Tulloch Lodge with much fanfare in early 2013.
But the entire's only Australian start resulted in a less-than-impressive 13th of 18 runners in the Ajax Stakes in March.
Carlton House's Epsom withdrawal was confirmed in a Racing NSW statement.
