Capacity field of 16 for Turnbull Stakes

Wednesday 2 October 2013, 11:52am

Melbourne Cup favourite Puissance De Lune is among a capacity field for Saturday's Group One Turnbull Stakes at Flemington.

A field of 16 and four emergencies has been declared for the 2000m feature with Puissance De Lune coming up with the inside barrier while last-start Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes winner Fiorente has gate 14.

Chris Waller has opted not to start Makybe Diva Stakes winner Foreteller but will be represented by leading Cups hopes Royal Descent (barrier four) and Hawkspur (barrier 19).

With Foreteller not running, Craig Newitt will partner Royal Descent.

Owner Lloyd Williams has Fawkner in the Turnbull but last year's winner Green Moon is not among the acceptances.

Stablemate Sea Moon was also missing from the Turnbull field and accepted for the Listed Bart Cummings (2520m) on the same card.

Caulfield Cup hopeful Jet Away has made the Turnbull field and has barrier three while Australian Cup winner Super Cool has gate nine.

Precedence, Waldpark, Whisper Downs and Bit Of Hell are the emergencies.
