Peter Snowden described Guelph's Group One Flight Stakes win as a track gallop after Sydney's best filly overcame a wide run to outclass her rivals.
In an arrogant display, Guelph sat three-wide, strode up to join the leaders on straightening and raced away to score by 1-3/4 lengths over Melbourne filly Sensibility with Bound For Earth another three-quarters of a length back in third.
"If you can jump, relax and you've got a great turn of foot it will take you a long way and she has got all three," Snowden said.
"To me, she had an exhibition gallop, that's all."
Having clearly proven herself the dominant three-year-old filly in Sydney, Guelph's next task is to do the same in Melbourne.
The Thousand Guineas against her own age and sex is the goal and she also holds a nomination for the Cox Plate.
But Snowden is lukewarm on running her in Australia's weight-for-age championship.
"As far as I'm concerned it's just the Thousand Guineas. She had an extended two-year-old preparation so I'm mindful of that," he said.
"She won today, if she happened to win the Thousand Guineas I think a quick freshen up then and the autumn carnival is at her feet. The Coolmore, the Doncaster, all those races are there."
Kerrin McEvoy was back aboard Guelph after missing her Tea Rose Stakes win through suspension.
He said he had no concerns positioning her closer to the speed and three-wide, confident he was on the dominant horse.
"I went out there riding the best horse in the race," McEvoy said.
"I didn't want to have to drag right back, I was only going to have to get going at the 600 metres and make up that ground.
"I had her three-wide in a comfortable spot and you can do that when you're on a classy filly like her."
Sensibility was having just her third start and did a good job to get second, running on from the rear.
Her trainer Peter Moody was thrilled and said she would now be spelled.
"She's still six months away. She's done well, she's gone Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney in three runs," Moody said.
