Toydini is poised to strike in Saturday's Group Two Crystal Mile on the back of strong Sydney form and a pleasing educational at Moonee Valley.
The Guy Walter-trained Toydini has been installed favourite ahead of Doncaster winner Sacred Falls for the 1600m event on the undercard to the Cox Plate.
Toydini ventured to Moonee Valley on Tuesday morning to get a look at the track and Walter left satisfied after the gelding handled the circuit in accounting for his work partner.
"He handled it pretty well and was on the right leg all the way," Walter said.
"He's pretty adaptable that way and his work at Flemington on Saturday morning was also very good.
"It was the same thing, he got straight on the right leg so I'm happy with him."
Toydini has always shown potential but has started to realise it in his two most recent preparations after being gelded.
This campaign he has won the Group Three Cameron Handicap in impressive fashion and was narrowly denied when a close third in the Group One Epsom Handicap (1600m).
Epsom winner Boban has since come out and won again at Caulfield.
The Group One Emirates Stakes (1600m) is Toydini's aim in Melbourne but Walter said the Crystal Mile was also a target race.
Toydini has barrier five in the 10-horse field which includes Sacred Falls, Speediness, Blackie and Rain Drum.
