A two-year-old colt with close family ties to champion Black Caviar is nominated to make his debut in the Merson Cooper Stakes at Caulfield.
The David Hayes-trained Beluga Caviar is among 16 nominations for Saturday's Listed 1000m race for juveniles.
Beluga Caviar, who was sold for $1.2 million at this year's Easter Yearling Sale, is a son of Redoute's Choice out of the top producing mare Scandinavia.
Scandinavia is the grand dam of Black Caviar, the champion sprinter who was retired in April having won all 25 of her races, 15 at Group One level, an Australian record.
Black Caviar was recently confirmed in-foal to leading stallion Exceed And Excel.
In addition to Black Caviar, Scandinavia's unraced daughter Helsinge has also produced recently-retired multiple Group One winner All Too Hard.
