Dual Group One winner Platelet will be given a break following her failure as favourite in the Kevin Heffernan Stakes at Caulfield.
Trainer Darren Weir said Platelet had come through Saturday's race in good order and he could not explain her performance.
"She seems OK this morning but she changed stride with about 150 metres to go yesterday and it looked like something had gone wrong," Weir told Racing Victoria.
"Michelle (Payne) sort of just eased her down but she seems fine today."
The winner of Adelaide's two Group One sprints last autumn, Platelet missed her Group One assignment in the VRC Sprint Classic won by Buffering at Flemington.
A clerical error which listed her as being trained at Weir's Ballarat stable when in fact she was at his Warrnambool complex led to her withdrawal because she could not be subjected to the same security as the other runners.
It has been a lean spring for Weir with long-time Melbourne Cup favourite Puissance De Lune coming out of his unplaced run in the Cox Plate with a leg injury.
Puissance De Lune will not be able to race until next spring and owner Gerry Ryan will also consider sending him to stud instead of continuing his track career.
