Top jockey Craig Williams will begin a month-long riding stint in Japan this weekend.
The Victorian-based hoop has been a regular addition to the riding ranks in Japan for short periods over the past couple of seasons, winning a handful of Group races.
He will be chasing his first win in the Group One Japan Cup (2400m) at Tokyo on Sunday aboard the locally-trained Admire Rakti who is coming off a last-start Group Two placing at the track.
The race will also feature Simenon and Dunaden who finished fourth and eleventh respectively in Fiorente's Melbourne Cup.
Williams has had two previous rides in the Japan Cup and collected minor placings both times.
The well-travelled hoop wound up his spring carnival commitments at Caulfield last Saturday with a double aboard Caravan Rolls On in the Sandown Cup and Mahisara in the Sandown Stakes.
He will ride in Japan until December 22.
