Joe Pride keeping it in the family

Friday 22 November 2013, 3:25pm

Terravista will start one of the shortest priced favourites at Randwick on Saturday when he bids to prove himself worthy of an autumn carnival campaign.

And he isn't the only member of his family carrying the weight of expectation.

Three hours before Terravista runs in the Time Thief @ Darley Handicap, his little brother Ball Of Muscle will make his debut in the opening race at Newcastle.

Joe Pride trains both horses and is anticipating Ball Of Muscle to be as popular with punters as his progressive sibling, a confidence buoyed by the victory of stablemate Meteoros at Canterbury on Wednesday.

"Terravista's brother won a barrier trial by seven lengths and the horse he beat was Meteoros," Pride said.

"It will be interesting to see what price he starts on Saturday at Newcastle."

Ball Of Muscle is the fourth horse Pride has trained out of wonderful producer Parfore, along with Group performer Tiger Tees and Our Boy Lukas.

Of Parfore's seven foals to race, four have amassed six-figure earnings.

If Terravista wins on Saturday he will make it five.
